We were unable to take all of our guests to lunch at Mrs. Fortunata, Mrs. Maria and Mrs. Rita's homes, so we brought them to the Octant Furnas.

From lagoon to lagoon, passing by the Quente das Quenturas hot spring, we discover the best cooks on the island.
The ones that everyone in the world praises, and that family members are proud of.

Mrs. Fortunata, Mrs. Maria and Mrs. Rita accepted our Chef's invitation, Paulo Leite, so on April 20th they will be here to cook their best dishes for you.

About the cooks

Mrs. Fortunata

She is currently a housekeeper at our hotel, but for 23 years she was a cook in a typical restaurant on the island. The cooking profession was never planned, it happened when her father was a cook for 31 years in another hotel on the island.

Mrs. Maria

Locals say she is a Bolo Lêvedo specialist, if not for her 35 years of experience. Today she works in a small factory of jam, biscuit and liqueur. She loves cooking and having everyone at the table and her grandchildren are her biggest fans of her dishes.

Mrs. Rita

Having emigrated to Toronto, she returned to this island with her family. She started cooking with her mother and currently enjoys making dishes with the ingredients the she produces, with special care for her corn.
